Napa County

Just 50 miles to the north of San Francisco, and known as California’s most iconic wine region.

Welcome to Napa County

General

Just 50 miles to the north of San Francisco, and known as California’s most iconic wine region, Napa Valley has built a reputation for producing exceptional wine, much of which can be collected and aged such as its coveted Cabernet Sauvignon.

The main valley is just 30 miles long and 5 miles wide, but the County also includes other distinct areas such as Lake Berryessa, Pope Valley and Wooden Valley. There are 5 main cities within the County and several smaller towns with distinct identities.

The Napa region has also become proficient at delivering gorgeous scenery, and a delightful visitor experience – whether visitors come for the wine or for the world class food, high end hotels and ultra-luxury resorts with ever popular spas, or other experiences such as hot air balloon rides, bike riding and lake-based water sports.

Business and the Economy

Rather than just being an item of historical interest, that the Napa economy was originally built up based on cattle, grain and fruit, it is important to note that farming is still of vital importance to the local economy. There are approximately 700 grape growers in Napa County, spread across 16 distinct AVAs within the area. Despite this, Napa County still generates only 4% of California’s annual wine grape harvest. More than 40 different wine grape varietals grow in this climate and with the wide variety of terroirs found here. Approximately 20% of vineyard acreage is planted to white wine grape varietals and 80% is planted to red wine grapes.

There are roughly 475 physical wineries located across the county and these produce finished product for more than 1,000 wine labels. 95% of these wineries are family owned and nearly 80% produce less than 10,000 cases annually. As a whole Napa Valley AVA produces just 0.4% of the world’s wine production.

The wine industry (and related businesses) generate an annual economic impact of over $9.4BN locally and almost $34BN for the USA overall. Eco-tourism and hospitality are also thriving industries in this county.

So, if you are excited to get into the wine industry as an entrepreneur, or are already in the industry and seeking to expand and need to acquire new commercial property, or you have successfully grown your business and are finally seeking to sell - then The Elite Club has the expertise and resources for you.

Living and Visiting

Napa County is called home by over 100,000 residents, and while the heart of the Napa Valley may be found in a glass, its soul is revealed through its spirit of community.

From winemaking’s humble beginnings, to redefining what a modern-day winery is, and to today’s local growers sharing their agricultural innovations, this community spirit can be experienced in every corner of this county; and is what ultimately gives life here a flavor all of its own.

While embracing the same underlying Wine Country theme, each Napa community in the county is distinct and different in its own unique way – just waiting to be discovered and experienced by you. So either explore and figure out which one is the place for you (because the best things in life are the experiences we share, savor, and discover with other people), or just ask us to share our experiences of each and narrow down your search. You can always change your mind.  The Elite Club is here to help you secure your own slice of wine country, in the form of your ideal home.

If you are new to the area, or just visiting, then: Welcome! Got to Visit Napa Valley and let them help you find your next Napa Valley destination.
